Policy | Video Cassettes A-Z | Topical | Search by Title | Search by Description The Diocesan Office of Education wishes to promote a greater freedom to catechists and other school personnel to use the media library. To further this aim, we offer a "subscription fee." Subscriptions are available to parishes and includes their Parish School of Religion and their Parochial School. Signing the subscription gives them use of the Media Library without charges for individual media. Inter-parochial schools need a separate subscription. SUBSCRIPTION FEE: $75.00 per year Unlimited use or DIRECT CHARGE: A parish not under the subscription policy and individuals will be charged directly for each audio/visual item used or previewed the charge is: $2.50 per video, CD or DVD or $1.50 per audio cassette Parishes are billed twice a year, in January and June, for the AVs they have used. Individuals are asked to pay when they pick up or return a film. RENTAL OF SPECIAL PROGRAMS: Special programs designed for discussion and lasting over several weeks are rented for the duration of the program at the rate of $2.00 per session. Programs falling under this policy are: Basic Course for Catechist Formation, Revelation: Book of Unfolding the Mystery, Bradshaw on the Family, DeSales Programs, Echoes of Faith, Exploring the Faith, Julian of Norwich, Paulist Scripture Program, Scripture from Scratch II, Spirituality of the Beatitudes, and any other multiple video series in which the whole series is used. PREVIEW: Audio/visuals may be previewed at the Office of Education Media Library free of charge. A/Vs taken from the office for preview are charged the regular rental fee and must be returned within seven (7) days. BOOKINGS: Materials are reserved for use by sending an AV request form to the Media Library or by telephone,(785)827-8746, or by e-mail, avlibrary@salinadiocese.org Request forms are located in the catalog or may be requested from the Media Library. In requesting materials please indicate: type of media (audio or video cassette, CD or DVD) title, and if part of a series, which segment you need first and second choice of media, and first and second choice of date. RENTAL PERIOD: In order to provide greater availability of all audio/visual materials, we request your cooperation with the following policy: All audio/visual materials must be postmarked the day after showing unless extra time has been agreed upon with the media librarian. All preview material must be returned within seven (7) days. Items should be returned in the container in which they are sent. They should be posted "Media Mail" and sent to:
If and audio/visual appears to be damaged, return it to the Media Library and indicate in writing the apparent damage. The parish or organization will be liable for cost of repair or replacement if the materials are badly damaged or lost. CATALOGUES/Hard copies of our listing are no longer available. An updated list of available AVs can be found on the diocesan web-site http://www.salinadiocese.org under Catholic Education and then Audio/Visual Aids.
