Our Mission

The Office of Youth Ministry assists the Christian community in ministering to, with, by and for youth.  Its goals are:  fostering the total personal and spiritual growth of youth and young adults;  and drawing youth and young adults toward responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the faith community.  The office provides resources, retreats, rallies, conferences, camp, training and in-services.

Our CYO Convention is planned for April 5-6, 2008, at South High School in Salina. This year’s keynote speaker is familiar to our youth and youth throughout the United States and Canada. Vince Nims, from Livermore California, is a musician with CDs published by Oregon Catholic Press. As a story-teller, Vince delivers a bold Christ-centered message that challenges people of all ages to move toward Christ and live life like they believe! Please be conscious of the deadline for all material (Registration, Scrapbook, Unit of the Year, Sponsor of the Year), March 3rd, and help us by observing them.

Our Jr. CYO Camp is for this year’s 6th-9th Graders. Mark your calendars now for your youth to participate, May 24-27, 2008. Registration material and Counselor Applications will be sent to Youth Ministers and Pastors/PLCs in March.

The Prayer and Action Mission Experience this year will visit parishes in Beloit and Hays. The schedule is:

Salina Diocese Totus Tuus wil conduct 8 Sessions from June 1 to August 1. Each Session runs Sunday evening through Thursday evening with Grades 1-6 meeting during the day, Jr. High youth meeting Sunday and Monday nights, and High School youth meeting on Wednesday night.
