MORE THAN JUST A NEW LOOK

Bishop Paul S. Coakley

“What’s this?”  Perhaps you did not even recognize The Register when you pulled it from your mailbox this week.  It is the same paper, but it has a new look.  For many years The Northwestern Kansas Register has been bringing you news that you were not likely to find anyplace else.  We hope that you will find its new format easier to read and handle.  The changes we have initiated are not intended to be merely cosmetic.  We hope that you will find its new features even more effective in bringing you the news and information that affects the Church locally, nationally and internationally.   We hope that it will help you keep in touch and involved with the life of the Church in our own diocese and around the world.

More than merely keeping Catholics in the Diocese of Salina abreast on current events, the Register has always been a valuable instrument for evangelization and education.  Our new format will enable us to include a variety of columns and occasional special features such as the thoughtful Catholic response to the recent DaVinci Code phenomenon which you will find in this issue.

We welcome your feedback.  When you finish reading this issue of The Register please pass it on to someone else.  If you are not already a regular subscriber we hope that you will consider becoming one.
